Cindy’s New Creations
My earlier post was about Cindy, she loves making paper bead jewelry and gives it away to friends and co workers. I just want to share with you her newest creations, like me she loves working with paper beads and mixing them with seed beads and stones. I love how you can take an ordinary piece to extraordinary with paper beads.
In this bracelet, she used the tube shaped paper beads in pink, with matching earrings.
This bracelet is made from magnetic beads which she got from Walmart! I didn’t even know they sell beads. She paired it with this blace tone olive shaped paper beads.
Here’s the matching earrings.
This bracelet, is made with small round beads, woven with seed beads and finished off with a toggle clasp.
Would you like your paper bead creations featured here? I would love to see them. All you need to do is email me your images and a short description. Thank you for stopping by, my next post would be using colored softflex. ‘Til next post…….

I am introduced lately to paper clay, how? By wandering around craft stores, getting inspired, getting ideas, if you are into all sorts of paper crafts like me you know what I mean. Creative Paper Clay, is just like any other clay except, it is easier to work with and requires no firing in a kiln or oven. I like doing things simple and this requires no experience it all. It is very light when dry, like soft wood. It is great companion for paper beads and so I made a beaded paper clay bead with small paper beads.
Paper Clay once taken out of the package just looks like dough and it is soft and moist. I cut out one with a cooker cutter to show you how it looks like unpainted.
You can sand it, and paint it if you like. What I did with mine is mixed in red acrylic paint to a hue of pink to go with my paper beads. Here’s an example of other beads I made; I glued crystals on it and varnish it with diamond glaze to make it look like a disco ball and the other one, I crocheted around it, I like it better than crochething around wood or beads, because I can make it any size and color I want.
Here is my paper beaded ball! I like holding it and rolling it around my hands, I don’t know what to do with it yet, maybe a pendant or something.
I used monofilament string or fishing line so it does not show and strung a red seed bead, 7 small paper beads, a red seed bead and just go around the bead. For this size of bead which is about, 25 mm I used up 3 strands or 77 small paper beads.
This will be listed on my etsy shop, so someone can make it into a pendant or do something special with it. I hope this has inspired you to make something with paper beads today.

Cindy Johnson is one of avid beaders who has just discovered paper beads, I am impressed at her enthusiasm and creativity when it comes to coming up with new ways to turn paper beads into wearable jewelry. Cindy works as a Registered Nurse at a local hospital and finds beading as a great stress reliever. In her own words:
” For the last 22 years of my life I have been an RN. For the last nine months I have been a beader. I find it a great way to relieve stress after a difficult shift and also a great way to express my creativity. My daughter Kate (12 yrs. old) has also gotten into beading and is getting really good.”
Here’s Cindy with beautiful chandelier earrings she made with small round paper beads.
A bird’s eye view
The chandelier earring finding she put together from jewelry bought at Dollar Tree for a dollar! I love it when looking stylish does not have to cost an arm and a leg.
She also made this necklace with blue paper bead tubes, Kate agreed to model for us. I wish I took a close up of it.
You must be wondering why I’m only showing one earring, for some reason the other pair got lost in Cindy’s huge bag. She was in a rush to finish Christmas shopping so we did not have the time to look for it.
Something Old….
My love for old and vintage, in fact my love for anything used and old was influenced by my mother. I remember that she was not crafty or anything like that she does not even sew, but she loved taking laces and trims from old clothes and using them to spruce up an old dress. She would always describe colors to me like, yellow like an egg yolk or pink like old rose. I thought of her when I found this vintage leaf pin from a thrift store. It looked like it has been missing a stem and the pin backing was just soldered. It has been sitting in my box for almost two years now, waiting for the perfect vintage black ribbon that I thrifted.
This is how the back looks like.
Vintage black velvet ribbon, about one inch wide, I had to sew along the long edges to make it not as wide, I then just then attached it to a ribbon finding.
This would look good worn with a lacy dress or tee shirt and jeans. What do you think?
