The very first of the Janice Mae Eco-Chic Jewelry Collection – a mixture of metals, stones, crystals, gems, plastic, paper………and then, something special, hand made beads from old magazines, rolled and glazed to perfection!  Before I get carried away, I want to share the Pink & Girly necklace:

I can write a hundred times the words “I’m sorry”  but I know would not be enough to make up for the times you came to visit me and I was not here!  Here’s a bunch of flowers and a bunch of promises to make it up to you:)

To a New Day!  Have you tried doodling on a page and rolling them into beads?  If you have not, you are missing out on a fun thing to do.  Start with a small page, a big empty page can be quite intimidating.  Here is a tutorial:

Let’s make beads with it.

Mounted Paper Beads

Posted on Apr 24, 2012 in Other Crafts & Crafty People | Comments Off on Mounted Paper Beads

We have another tutorial today by Dee of A Passion For Paper on how to mount thin paper into card stock.  The result, is thicker and chunkier paper beads.  This is great too for tissue paper and napkin paper mounted on colored or just plain white card stock.  For Dee’s tutorial

I have a collection of Dee’s beads and I will post finished jewelry pieces after I put them together.  Below, is an example of the two identical calendar page mounted on different backing.  The result is quite different and both came out pretty.  I couldn’t make up my mind myself, so I got both 🙂

A Passion For Paper

We have a guest today, Ms. Dee Ann, like me she has been bitten by the “paper bead bug” and couldn’t stop making paper beads. Not just any paper beads, she makes really beautiful, glass like, vibrant, meaningful paper beads. Dee gets her inspiration from flowers, nature and story books. I have some of her beads just couldn’t resist them, not that I need anymore but her beads has something to it, you can tell it is made with love and care, see for yourself.  Her shop is filled with colorful and beautiful paper beads – http://www.etsy.com/shop/deeann7

Dee has fool proof way of glazing her beads using the Vibrance, and she is sharing it with you here:

Dee takes photos of plants and nature and turning them into beautiful paper beads.  She has a library of prints with varying subjects mostly nature and flowers.  This is one example of Dee’s creation, The Scrabble Charm Bracelet, hop on to her etsy site and see how she made this one.
