Cha-Cha Bracelet in Paper Beads

Posted on Mar 19, 2010 in How-To's / Tutorials | 3 comments

This cha-cha bracelet finding has been sitting on my desk for quite sometime now, when Kayla C. finally decided to do something with it to match our Sea Anemone Ring.  You just need to be patient making all those dangles and connecting them to the loops on the bracelet, the finished bracelet,  is all worth it!  Kayla, used the small round paper beads and opal colored fire polished crystals.

Here’s Kayla with a video on how she attached the dangles to the bracelet finding.

It is a perfect match to our Sea Anemone Ring

AVATAR Inspired Necklace

Posted on Mar 16, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 1 comment

Kayla G. still has AVATAR on her mind after watching the movie.  So, here is her version of Neyteri’s necklace with round paper beads.

Avatar-Movie-Pic-2

……  I decided I would put a little something together… Neytiri wears this eccentric, eye catching necklace through out the movie. It is weaved with feathers and full of vibrant colors. I just fell in love with it.

I made my own version of Neytiri’s necklace with paper beads.

I chose to do a 6 strand braid with Greek leather, to give it the weaved look. I attached vibrant colored feathers and  wire wrapped paper beads. I also added some strings to give it that organic look look.

I hope you enjoy my Avatar inspired necklace as much as I enjoyed making it (and watching the movie)  🙂

Create, Create with Paper Beads

Have you tried turning an old book into a journal?  I have recently discovered how to alter a book into an art journal,  whether it is considered art journal or just plain journal it doesn’t matter it is your own journal and it is your own art.  There’s a lot of information out there I’m sure most of you are already familiar with.  My altered book journal is not finished yet but I am too excited about it, I have to show it to you.  I altered an old knitting/crochet book which is obsolete, I chose this book because first of all it has the sewn binding and it is just the right size.  Anyway, here it is…………

Here is a good tutorial on how to pick your book for an art journal from EraserqueenStudio:

Since I am the self-proclaimed Paper Bead Princess, I put paper beads on everything as you can see on the cover.

This is one of the unfinished page.  I sewed the sides of five pages put together.

Here’s one page that I finished last night with paper bead flowers 🙂

A Tutorial on the Sea Anemone Ring

Posted on Mar 13, 2010 in How-To's / Tutorials | 26 comments

I did a post on this ring a few months back, but no video tutorial.  This has been such a popular ring, and just catches everyone’s attention when I wear it.  It such a nice cocktail ring or just a “feel good ring”.  The ring would take on a different look depending on which ring finding you are using.  The trick is to just fill up the loop with as much dangles as you can – which can be quite a challenge, but then you get such rewarding results. I have used the olive shaped paper beads and the small round beads in making these rings.

This ring is made with the small round paper beads.

You can also try and wire wrap the dangles into the ring loop finding instead of the rosary loop.

I hope you have fun this week end making these rings.
