Copper And Turquoise – day 25

Posted on Jan 26, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 6 comments

Turquoise color cross can be found at Michael’s Jewelry Aile, it will look nice with any of your  turquoise color paper beads.  You always hear me talking about my finds at Michael’s, I just find the inexpensive beads and findings they carry to be a great accessory with paper beads.

Brass Findings- day24

The dollar store is a great place to find jewelry components that you can take apart and use for paper bead jewelry making.  You need to be able to look at something and imagine how it will look like after it has been “rehabilitated”, like this one:

Kayla and I were so happy to see all the cones and what we can do with it 🙂

Olive shaped beads painted with old rose color nail polish are peeking out from the cones like buds.  Glass flowers  are added into the mix.

Colourful Spools -day 23

Posted on Jan 23, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 2 comments

I didn’t know what to do with the different leftover barrel shaped paper beads, they are so rich in color with shiny metallic paper they remind me of spools of metallic yarn.  If you are like me who loves funky and unusual jewelry, you would love this necklace.

Several strips of paper went into the making of these barrel type beads, they are not as light as the other type of paper beads that we have.

I love jewelry that you don’t have to take seriously, I put this on and your mood somehow lightens up!

Mixed With Copper – day 21

Posted on Jan 21, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 3 comments

I did a post on paper beads out of hand made paper.  I remember it being fun and the fact that I did not really know what the outcome was going to be added to the excitement that is part of process when you make something.  If I were watching a movie I would have pressed the fast forward button and go to the finished end.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the process, it’s the waiting to dry in between coatings of paint or glue that makes me impatient.  The beads turned out more of Victorian, don’t you think?

The rose colored chains we thought would complement the beads really well.

blog6

It turned out dainty and feminine and light as a feather.

I will do a separate post announcing the painted beads swap!
