Paper Bead Ring

This ring is a very easy project but a nice way to showcase that one single paper bead that interests you.  I found this one bead from a strand of paper beads, I like the stripe pattern of the bead.  The one good thing about the paper bead is the large hole, perfect for hiding knots.  I used .8mm elastic for this project and flower spacers for the band and bead caps for the paper bead.

What you do is cut a piece of elastic, use a bead stopper on one end and string according to this pattern: paper bead, bead cap, spacers (the number would depend on the size of your ring) and bead cap.  You would then tie a square knot and put a dab of gs hypocement (glue) to make it secure.  When it is dry, cut the excess elastic and pull the knot inside the bead.

  1. Hi Janice
    I made a ring using
your instructions, it came out great.
I had a few bead caps and was
fortunate that they fit. When making
paper beads how do I know what
size or shape to buy that will fit the paper
beads? I am finding this alittle frustrating
being that you can’t try them on the beads.

    The paper beads?

    • Hi Patti,

You just need to use a small bead cap like a 5mm and this should fit most paper beads. When you buy the bead caps it will tell you their size, I’d say just stick to the small ones. Keep creating! Janice
