Paper Bead Ladder Bracelet

I used the ladder stitch to make this paper bead bracelet.  It is very simple and very much paper bead friendly.  Instead of using the elastic I used the silk cord with a needle in the end, it last more and is just fitting for “grown-up” jewelry.

I used clam tips to secure the ends and finished it off with the magnetic closure for convenience.  This is a bracelet is meant to last longer than the elastic counterpart.

  1. Your site is such an inspiration! I have never made jewelry before. I was looking for something to create to raise money for earth month and creating paper beads was a great fit! I am obsessed with making them! I have lots of silk cord from my embroidery days and wanted to create this wonderful bracelet. Can you advise a site for instruction on how to finish a bracelet using silk cord? Thank you for your wonderful site and sharing it with others. I am truly inspired!

    • Hi Aileen,

The ladder bracelet done with silk cord uses the clam tips to hide the knot when you are attaching the clasp, I used magnetic for this one. Do you already know basic jewelry making like attaching clam tips? I have them on my etsy shop towards the last page and maybe you can see how the magnetic clasp are attached. The ladder stitch is very basic and I just came up with the idea of using silk cord, if you are patient I will come up with a video;) Fearlessly crafting……..Janice Mae
