Picture Jasper – day 199

Posted on Aug 29, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 2 comments

Picture jasper is one of my favorite stones to work with because they are real stones and yet inexpensive.  It looks like a mini painting all done by mother nature.  JTV’s jewel school has a few selections and they are on sale.  You can find them here. During my last visit to JTV, Christiane (she is one of the talented jewel school team) made this beautiful pendant!

Can you believe this is chainmaille framing the pendant?  I never thought of using chainmaille this way, I always crochet around a cabochon but this is pretty!

Jewel School offers kits and tutorials on chainmaille, so go ahead check out their free videos.  Lauren, the Chaimaille Lady will show you how.

Today, I have some eye candy for you from one of my talented followers Manou 🙂  If you remember, Manou made the mini Matryoshka dolls which she hand painted.  Manou just took paper bead painting to the next level in these little sweet treats she made.
