Paper Beads as eye glass holder – great idea! It is light weight, eye catching and a great way to show your “green” side. I made it with different size paper beads as you can see here, using just softflex for stringing, a crimp bead and a pair of eyeglass holder finding. I know that many of you want to know how to make the really small rounder shaped paper beads. It is the same principle as making the larger tube shape paper beads, just cut the paper the same only a lot smaller, the width of the starting base of your triangle determines how big is your bead going to be. Also, instead of using a skewer or the bamboo roller I showed in my youtube video, try using a small nail or tapestry needle for making really small round paper beads. If you don’t have the time to do any of these steps, you can purchase the paper beads in strands at www.aubreysbeads.com

You will string the paper beads in random size, to about 36 inches or longer depending on how long you want it to be, this time I chose not mix it with other beads.
This is how I keep my peepers around my neck all the time.

The following are materials needed:
How to: Double-wire wrapped each paper bead with the 22 gauge silver or gold wire, be sure to connect each bead before wire wrapping the ends. Wire wrapped the magnectic clasp to each end or use jump ring, although it is more strong if the clasp is wire wrapped. Connect the tree charm or any charm of your choice to the middle of the bracelet. Last but not least, be sure to measure the length of the bracelet before attaching the clasp and do not forget to take into consideration that the clasp will add at least 1/4-1/2 of an inch to the length of your bracelet.
The kit that includes DVD instructions on how to wire wrapped can also be purchased at www.aubreysbeads.com or click the icon to your left.
The magnetic closure makes it easy to take the bracelet off and put it on – to make the bracelet last for years you need to take it off when washing hands or doing dishes.

Making paper beads is a nice hobby for kids and adults alike can be pretty addicting actually. The love of making paper beads and the need to augment their income is how the community of men and women in the Philippines came together to put up this little cottage industry. You have the best of both worlds when you love what you do and get paid doing it. In just less than a year that they have been doing this, the results and the response of the public has been pretty amazing. The following images will give you a glimpse on how paper beads are being mass produced.
This procedures requires precision and practice. Jun almost cut his finger off when he forgot to put the safety latch on, definitely not for kids!
The bundled strips of paper is then distributed to the workers to be made into paper beads of different shape and sizes.

This is such a fun bracelet to make, mixing and matching the paper beads with India Glass. I used the 10mm paper beads and just different shapes of India glass. Each bead is between bead caps and wire wrapped with a head pin and attached to a silver chain bracelet.
The bead caps are used to cover the larger than normal holes on the paper beads. The bead caps can be substituted with 4mm beads or 6/0 seed beads.
It would also be nice to add charms to this bracelet.
I prefer to use the magnectic closure for convenience, specially that you need to take the necklace off when taking a shower.
