This is another fun project that Kayla C came up with to celebrate Easter – Paper Bead Easter Eggs! She made egg shaped paper beads from an old poster with the metal roller and painted them with nail polish to look like Easter eggs.

Here’s a couple of videos on how to cut the paper and make the “eggs”
She just used nail polish (the kind that you paint nail art on your nails) to decorate the “eggs”

Happy Easter!

The Tree of Life Pendant is so popular among beaders and jewelry makers and it looks so complicated. Well, I always wanted to make one with paper beads, so I searched and watched several youtube videos before I found one that I really like and I am going to share here with you. Her name is Camille Sharon and she makes the tree of life pendants out of gem stones. Here is my version of the tree of life pendant or what I want to call a bonsai tree, made with small round green paper beads. I just use a 16 or 18 gauge craft wire instead of the flat wire she mentioned and 26 gauge wire for wrapping the beads.

I only have the green and orange wire available but I think it came out fine with the green paper beads.

The sun came out today and so I had fun taking photos…….

Just happens to be a perfect match with what Kayla wore that day.

Have fun watching her videos, she has other good tutorials.

I made this baby pink bracelet awhile back, before I became a grand mother. I never thought that I will have this little bundle of joy wear this bracelet a year later. This set of three bracelets is such a good present idea to a new mommy and you can make this in blue also for a baby boy. I used round pink tone beads and strung them on elastic.

You can incorporate fireplished crystals, baby pearls or swarovski’s in the baby or mommy’s birth stone.

Finish it off with a pink grosgrain ribbon.

I get asked a lot about how to make the paper bead more round – the best way to do this is: Make long strips of triangle 1/2 inch wide at the base of the triangle. How do you make a long strip of paper? You can do this by joining the magazine pages together by gluing them at the edges or use a really long paper like wrapping paper. I take my measurements by using a yard stick, if you don’t have one, just use a long piece of straight edge wood. Keep in mind that the result would vary depending on the texture or how heavy the paper you are using. I would suggest to just experiment on the paper you have available. There is no wrong or right way to do this, I love the different shapes that come out every time, AND I like to be surprised!
Here’s an example of round paper beads that I just strung on elastic and mixed them with Chinese crystals, they are not that expensive and goes well with the paper beads.

This is the middle part of the triangle where I glued two pages together
I then, rolled the long strip of paper using the metal paper bead roller. It came out round, don’t you think? I was so happy to see my roses in bloom again, hello Spring!

These are examples of necklace and bracelet sets we have made in the past. They are just strung on elastic and mixed with crystals. These are great projects for a beading party or “paper beading party” as I would call it – all you need is elastic and paper beads.

I have a little instruction book on how to make beaded watches, and that gave me the idea of making paper beads watch bracelet. Kayla C chose the colors to go with this watch face and I must say, it came out pretty nice. You can buy these little watch faces at your local craft stores or here. These are fun watches but functional as well and the batteries can be easily replaced. I say all the time that the paper beads can take a simple jewelry from ordinary to extraordinary, like this watch for example.
Shown below are the materials: beading wire, crimp beads, olive shape paper beads, watch face, 3 strand finding and 3 strand clasp.
