Diamond Shaped Paper Beads

Posted on Sep 5, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 10 comments

The diamond shaped paper beads are my favorite shape to make into stretchy bracelets.  I like mixing them with gem stones, wood beads and crystals.  To make them – cut a long strip of triangle 1/2 inch at the base.  I am not good at doing  a step by step instruction so here’s a video tutorial.

I used the metal roller in this tutorial but the bamboo roller will work as well.

Here’s a couple of bracelets I made with the diamond shaped paper beads

The coral beads and the wooden carved beads are a perfect accompaniment to the diamond shaped paper beads

  1. I love crafting and recycled crafting is one of my favorite types. I have recently, [for 2 weeks now] been making beads of different shapes and sizes, but have yet to make them INTO any jewelry or other craft because I have sealed them with modge podge but worry it will not stand up to use and wear. In this video I see you dip your beads in a liquid that I am not familiar with. I was hoping you could tell me it’s exact name, brand, type or where I could buy this, your beads are so beautiful and shiny and I would like to have the same results.

Also, is it possible to use this product on the beads I have already treated with modge podge or should I just use it on only newly made beads? Thank you for your lovely web page and tutorials, you do a wonderful job explaining the steps needed to create some lovely projects!

    • Hello Nanette,

I used Vibrance for my projects and I have a video and how to in one of our online shops: http://www.paperbeadroller.com or click on any one of those banners you see here. The paper beads that have been treated with mod podge, white glue or diamond glaze can be dipped into the Vibrance which would serve as a glaze and hardener to make your beads last longer. This is how you are suppose to use this solution, first coat your paper beads with ordinary glue or mod podge and dipped it into the Vibrance. Welcome to our blog! Janice Mae
