Chevron beads have been around for a long time, they are colorful beads cut from a glass cane and has a distinctive star design from where the bead is cut from the cane. They look to me like hard candy while Kayla thinks that the finished necklace has all these bright colors that resembles the United Nations’ flags. Kayla carefully hand selected the diamond shaped paper beads that goes into this piece.
Chevron beads are very inexpensive and Firemountaingems has a nice selection.
The beads complements each other and look nice with the gold plated findings.
We made it long enough so that it can be worn as double strand necklace.
Or as bracelets
A closer look at the necklace, you will see the similar pattern of the chevron beads with the paper beads, except that they are going in opposite directions.
Hi
I am in love with this craft.
There is one question that
I have. When making bracelets
For friends etc. How big do
You make them?
I have a size 6 wrist.
How many inches do I add to that?
It must be the same formula for all
Of them I guess.
Thank you
Patti
Hi Patti,
If you make the bracelets in 7-7 1/2 inches that should fit an average size wrist. It would also depend if you are using chunky beads then you should make the bracelet longer. Thanks for visiting…..Janice
This turned out so nice. I’ve never heard of chevron beads before. Very colorful! Love it.
This is what I call multipurpose jewelry….I make a lot of pieces like this as well. You can do so much with it and you never get tired of the piece because it is interchangable!
I love the large colorful beads on this one it looks very ethnic, nice job!
