Painted Saucer Bead- day 44
To paint of not to paint……….Here is another version of the saucer shaped bead painted with Philippine Scene; sunsets and coconut trees! What more could you ask for?
A coiled 20 gauge wire is not only functional but a pretty addition to the pendant.
White olive shaped paper beads is the perfect back drop.
Swirly Medallion – day 43
Several strips of paper went into the making of the saucer shaped bead. You can see the true color of the magazine pages, creating beautiful swirls of colors.
Wire wrapped into a pendant.
The simplicity of the piece, makes it open for layering with other chains
Lyrical Bells -day 42
If you look at these cones closely you can see words, and you can make these so that it tells a story (a short one). To have them hanging on a chain, reminds me a monks tassels on their belt, this is what inspired me to make this necklace.
I love to see the swirls of words twirled to make it into a cone shape. You know how to make these right? I know I have a tutorial somewhere, it is actually very simple. You start it by rolling a triangle strip and when you have a finished bead, push the center using a pen or pencil and you have a cone shape!
The wood beads and the brown fresh water pearls added to its mystic.
Color of Sunset – day 41
I don’t know how else to describe it, gold and orange looks like the sky sometimes when the sun is about to set. I love mixing yarn covered wood beads with paper beads, it solves the dilemma of “I don’t have beads that will go with these.” Barrel shaped wood beads are wrapped with multicolored yarn in hues of orange and yellow to go with gold paper beads from hand made paper.
I especially made this bead to be long and wrapped silver threads around it and finished it with flecks of glitter. I made the bead Kayla designed the necklace. I thought it came out nice with the antiqued copper chains.
Don’t you just feel so proud wearing something that you made? Including the beads, all made by you! How cool is that?
