My Paper Beads – Jane Mc Bride

Posted on May 7, 2011 in My Paper Beads | 7 comments

One of the things I love to do is sharing the work of other paper bead fanatic.  Today, we have Jane McBride, she loves experimenting with them and here is the outcome:

Paper Beads cut with pinking shears

The look like pineapples don’t you think?  I also love the way Jane made earrings out of the saucer shape beads, very designer like 🙂 What a neat idea!

Jane made this saucer or button bead with a small opening for the jump ring to go in, how ingenious! I would love to try this.

Coffee Bag Hang Tags

Posted on Dec 10, 2010 in My Paper Beads | 7 comments

I am very impressed with one of my readers Charlene, not only does she make jewelry out of her paper beads she thought up of a way to make hang tags from coffee bags, what a nice touch!  I like the recycle logo idea with words and beads inside the transparent tag,  if I were the recipient I will be thrilled.  Hmmm…an idea for a swap, what do you think?

In Charlene’s own words  “……….here are my pics.  Just scrap magazine paper rolled up!!
now the tag is made from a coffee bag (back side) front side is just some clear??? scrape
stitch together to make a little “tea bag” with little words, beads, and the recycle logo from a can. Think of it as a tag with a window!  Also the necklace is going to be packaged in a ice cream jar.  I thought I would keep with the recycling theme.”

The nice thing about it is you can reuse the tag and whoever you are giving it to can do the same thing.  It is made out of sturdy material that can withstand mail and handling.

I love the olive shaped paper beads as well, it is pretty in it’s “randomness”

I have to make some, just in time for gift-giving.

I’m happy to share with you Sanja’s Friendship Necklace.  It is nice to see the different beads from the Fall Colors Bead Trade showcased in a long necklace.  Some of you may recognize the beads that Sanja used, we tried to evenly distribute the participants beads to everyone.

Long necklaces are fun specially to go over sweaters and turtle necks, also pretty doubled up into a two strand or a bracelet!

I hope everyone had fun playing with their beads because we sure did!

Friendship Necklaces

Sher and Deb finished their Friendship Necklace, I love how the necklaces looks similar, they are supposed to!  Beautiful fall colors are the one thing in common and it has a little bit of everyone’s beads, how cool is that?  It makes my day, when I see other people’s work, to see growing interests in paper beads and somehow to be connected with each other no matter where you are.  Sanja, is always coming up with new ideas and I just love how she tries and incorporates different things into her paper bead jewelry.

I’m happy to see that she used the elephant charm I sent her,  she was one of those who sent a picture of her wearing her paper beads jewelry and this was the giveaway!

Deb, I think you have the perfect Thanks Giving outfit right here, I love all the colors!

Aloha, from Sher, I see the salwag beads that she loves so much, now I know why, it is neutral and yet a beautiful accent to paper beads.
