Big and Beautiful Paper Beads

Posted on May 11, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 3 comments

One of the new shapes that my sister Joann came up with is big round paper beads 14-16mm in size.  One bead is a total of 9 magazine pages spread open and tightly rolled by hand.  Even though it’s made out of paper the beads feels substantial and weighty.  I wish I could show you all the different colors, they truly look like marbles with swirls of different colors.

  1. How do you cut such big pieces of paper? I use heavier paper for the chunky beads, but I don’t alway have a lot of it I’d like to glue what I have, but I have problems cutting it.

    • Hi Christine,

For these big paper beads what they did is glue magazine pages together so you will have one really long piece of triangle strip. To make a straight triangle you need to use a really long piece of straight edge wood or yard stick. Thanks for stopping by…….Janice Mae
