One of the new shapes that my sister Joann came up with is big round paper beads 14-16mm in size. One bead is a total of 9 magazine pages spread open and tightly rolled by hand. Even though it’s made out of paper the beads feels substantial and weighty. I wish I could show you all the different colors, they truly look like marbles with swirls of different colors.
Beautiful hues of orange….
Blues and white opals
Fiesta colors!
Here’s a basic beading how-to:
How do you cut such big pieces of paper? I use heavier paper for the chunky beads, but I don’t alway have a lot of it I’d like to glue what I have, but I have problems cutting it.
Hi Christine,
For these big paper beads what they did is glue magazine pages together so you will have one really long piece of triangle strip. To make a straight triangle you need to use a really long piece of straight edge wood or yard stick. Thanks for stopping by…….Janice Mae
