I See Zebras-day 5

Posted on Jan 5, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 6 comments

Animal prints I think never go out of style and the zebra print is the perfect black and white combination.  I use the big round beads and painted them white.  Using the Nail Art nail polish I just randomly drew black lines around the bead.

They don’t have to be perfect zebra stripes, once you draw them on the bead they will look like zebra prints.

blog5

I put inexpensive black Chinese crystals in between beads.

Your biggest investment is your time,  which makes this piece one of a kind!

Kayla took time off from her modeling duties, luckily my daughter Lyra was around and grudgingly agreed to put it on for me 🙂

Zebras In Pink Earrings-day 4

Posted on Jan 4, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 5 comments

Last year I was obsessed with drawing petite doll faces when I joined Suzi Blu‘s Petite Dolls Class.  You know how you do something in excess and just get burn out?  That’s what happened with me but I did three dolls and one of them is the inspiration for this earrings.

blog1

I love doing the zebra prints because they are so simple to do!

blog2

My Petite Doll could have worn these 🙂

Now I understand why I have gotten so many requests for painted beads, makes the designing part more fun.

Go On A Safari Earrings-#3

Posted on Jan 3, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 1 comment

I love Betsy Johnson jewelry and I try to buy them when we get them at our local TJMaxx.  Her jewelry are fun and funky and just brings out the kid in you.  One of my finds is this mismatched pair of earrings with huge elephant and giraffe charms.  They are very unusual on its own but I thought it needed an unusual bead to go with it!

It matches the Walk On The Wild Side Necklace but I think it would be too much to wear both at the same time.

Once I started doing the animal print beads can’t seem to stop!  I have tutorials for this coming up so just get your acrylic paint and paper beads ready.

It’s the New Year, take a chance and explore your wild side (your creative side, that is) 🙂

The Wild Side Of Paper Beads – 2nd Day

Posted on Jan 2, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 5 comments

Today is the second day since I posted my first post of the year, to come up with 365 Paper Bead Creations.  Doubts crossed my mind if I am able to do it or not, but the thought of my readers coming to visit gives me hope and encouragement.  Well, here is Paper Bead Creation # 2,  Walk On The Wild Side Necklace. Hand painted paper beads and black stick coral are combined to have this Safari look to it.

blog8

My inspiration for this print is hand made paper that I did awhile back.  I felt bad that I did not really got the chance to do a tutorial on it.

blog9

The black stick coral with tassels of gold chain completes the look.

blog6

I put black wood beads in between….

What do you think?

The Necklace will go up on my etsy shop tomorrow and watch out for the matching earrings as well.

New Year’s Ever Ball Cocktail Ring is available for purchase at my etsy shop.

365 Paper Bead Creations

Posted on Jan 1, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 5 comments

Kayla and I are stepping up to the challenge of creating wearable paper bead jewelry every single day in the year 2011.  It seems like a daunting task but we had a lot of practice since 2008 when we started the blog.  We are anticipating that paper beads will be taken to a whole new level this year and we will be seeing more people wearing them and jewelry designers incorporating paper beads into their creations.  To kick off the New Year, Wearable Paper Bead Jewelry #1 is what I call New Year’s Eve Ball In Time Square because that’s what it reminds me of.

blog1

I would still be posting tutorials and videos which means that I might have two posts in some days!  The piece of jewelry that is featured here will be on my etsy shop the next day available for purchase.  Let’s look forward to a Happy Prosperous New Year!

My New Year Resolution?  Wake up happy every morning and stay focus 🙂
