Diamond shape paper beads in magazine colors are mixed with heshi in this necklace which is meant to be layered. Just like the stacking rings, you can certainly wear two or three at the same time.
I love making these, because they are so simple to do. All you need is medium beading wire, crimp beads and magnetic clasp.
Here it is, stacked with the coral and round paper beads.
I promise I will do a tutorial so you can see how easy they are to make 🙂
Read MoreJust like stacking rings the first of a series of stacking necklaces are made to be worn by itself or with another necklace. Diamond shape paper beads in magazine colors are the focal point of this necklace surrounded by tiny coral beads.
The magnetic clasp is perfect for this light weight necklace which can also be worn as a bracelet, I love magnetic clasps!
It layers perfectly with other necklaces.
Read MoreI have been making a lot of stuff lately using the tiny paper beads. I remember making rosary beads in high school by beading around a big hole bead with seed beads. This is kind of the same technique except I am using paper beads around a painted wood bead.
I love how this came out, they look chunky but at the same time so feminine, don’t you think?
I used thin fishing line to string the beads and sew it around the wood bead. I wanted to make a necklace but did not have enough of the wooden bead.
It is a beautiful day today despite the threat of possible torrent, more beautiful because Kayla and I are going to a gem fair today in Costa Mesa, yay!!!! Whatever great finds we bring with us I will be sharing with my readers, so stay tuned for a giveaway 🙂
Something whimsical today, is Pappi the Fish. I wanted to call her Wanda but I already have a Wanda fish waiting to be adorned with paper beads. The findings for this project is a line called bead critters usually made up of top and bottom and you provide the bead for the body.
You thread the findings and the bead using a head pin and basic wire wrapped technique.
I had fun making this, fish in Asian culture is also good luck or at least this kind of fish 🙂
With this in mind I am wishing everybody good luck in whatever projects you are doing, I know I could wishes of luck myself 🙂
