Paper Beads

"A person who finds an interesting hobby finds happiness."

We are totally committed to making beautiful paper beads from magazines, newspapers, catalogs or any kind of paper that has become "old news." It is a very fascinating and engaging craft and has been around for many years. It is not just for kids anymore, the many things you can do, the possibilities are endless.

Two In One Medallion – day 197

Two In One Medallion – day 197

An easy, elegant way to frame a cabochon or in this case the large saucer shaped beads is wire crochet.  The wire just conforms to the shape of the bead nicely, easy to manipulate to capture the cab or the bead.  The Crocheted Medallion is even more beautiful when accented with the crocheted wire.

The words [...]

Beaded Kumihimo – day 196

Beaded Kumihimo – day 196

My last visit to jtv, I got the chance of meeting Anne Dilker, the Kamikaze of Kumhimo as she is aptly described by Kim the energetic host of jewel school. If you know me, I try to incorporate paper beads into everything.  I had fun making this Purple Pendant, but then I love anything in [...]

Tres Matryoshkas Pin – day 195

Tres Matryoshkas Pin – day 195

First of all I want to thank, Claire, Manou, Denise, Deb, Diane and Ann on the creative ideas on what to do with the Matryoshka paper bead dolls!  You have great ideas ladies and I will probably be making all of them in the future.  Since, I can only do one thing at a time [...]

Hammered Hoops – day 194

Hammered Hoops – day 194

I would call this earrings “instant pick me up.” It frames your face beautifully and you can’t help but feel like a million bucks!  Button paper beads in blue jeans color is the main focal point of this hoop earrings.

Adding the hammered look to a piece makes it more “designer” looking, don’t you think?

Black Lace Crochet – day 193

Black Lace Crochet – day 193

Crocheted black wire has the look of black lace with its open spaces and flexibility of the 28 gauge wire makes it perfect for wire crochet.  The tiny paper beads are ideal for projects like bead crochet and crochet with wire, I even find it easier than seed beads.

This goes perfectly well with the crocheted [...]

Crocheted With Carnelian Chips -day 192

Crocheted With Carnelian Chips -day 192

Carnelian is one of my favorite gem stones most specially for the fall season because of the orange, gold and brown tones to it.  No gem stones is safe with me when it comes to mixing it with paper beads   I combined everything that I love in this piece: carnelian, crochet and paper [...]

Sweet Sixteen Necklace – day day 191

Sweet Sixteen Necklace – day day 191

This is one of my favorite necklace why?  It is feminine, I love the colors of pink and periwinkle blue together, it is something that 16-60 girls or women can wear.  The rosary loops make look delicate and dainty, something for the girly girl, like most of us:)

A Bridal Shower gift for a green bride?  [...]

A Charmer Necklace – day 190

A Charmer Necklace – day 190

I’m sure some of you are just into simple yet beautiful design like the Charmer Necklace.  I always gravitate towards chunky and bold pieces and yet there are times when you just want something small and delicate and wear it with shirt or white blouse.

It’s that time of year again when we have to be [...]

Paper Bead Party Watch – day 189

Paper Bead Party Watch – day 189

This watch is for those of us who loves “blingy” stuff, it is not for everybody I know:)  Gold face watch mix with round paper beads and lots of crystals!

I like using these watch faces because they are so easy to maintain.  Tell me if this won’t get you noticed

Manou’s Matryoshkas

Manou’s Matryoshkas

I would like to share with you, Manou’s  paper bead Matryoshkas.  I first saw these when we had the painted paper bead swap.  Manou painstakingly painted each one of them and they are just super cute, don’t you think?

I think she first made cone beads with a wide base and painted each one to look [...]
