This flower motif using olive-shaped paper beads and seed beads is inspired by Deborah Roberti of Aroundthebeadingtable. It is called Hana-Ami, I think it means woven flower. Kayla C made a few of these to be made into a pendant or bracelet later on.

Here’s Part 1 and Part 2 of our own interpretation of Deborah’s Hana-Ami motif.
Part 2

I found these beautiful navy blue olive shaped paper beads and I knew I had to make something out of them.

I mixed them with white olive shaped paper beads, delicas, fire polish and daisy spacers.

The necklace is a four stranded necklace. I simply tied the strands into three knots creating a very eye catching center piece. It reminds me of a Navy knot actually.

What I love the most about this necklace are the colors. They are so subtle and go perfect with a white blouse and pair of jeans.

The vibrant magazine colors of the olive shaped paper beads accent the antique copper chain extremely well. The browns and burgundys really stand out in this necklace. Of course you can not miss the all sorts of bright colors, that really give this necklace a summery feel.

The oxidized chain or any kind of antiqued chain, would look good with the paper beads.

We could not just make one beaded watch, it is such a fun project with the olive shape paper beads, I’m sure they will come out just as pretty with the other shapes. This is a beginner project and the main thing you need to do is crimp! You don’t even have to worry about using a crimping tool, just use crimp bead instead of crimp tube and all you have to do is flatten it with chain nose pliers.

In this video, Kayla is showing you how to put it together.

This can be done in other styles also, it depends on what kind of watch finding you are using.

The nice yellow and orange colors of these small round paper beads, has inspired Kayla G to make this beautiful earrings and necklace set. Each paper bead is just wire wrapped to dangle on a chain.

Each paper bead is put on the head pin and wire wrapped to the chain.

The same thing with the necklace, you determine how long you want it to be, your pattern and attach the dangles to the gold chain.

The ribbon ends were wire wrapped with 24 gauge wire (any end finding is also recommended) and attach it to the chain. This looks very nice in the back.

She added glass flower beads, I think fabric flowers or ribbon flowers would also look adorable.
