A…spoonful Of Paper Beads-day49

Posted on Feb 18, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | Comments Off on A…spoonful Of Paper Beads-day49

I challenged myself one day to try and find anything in my kitchen, and incorporate it into a jewelry piece, in the spirit of “found objects” turned into wearable art.  Here’s what I found:

A rusty measuring spoon which I didn’t know has magnet on the bottom.  I filled it with the ice resin (I think diamond glaze would work too).

blog2

You could wear this as a pendant too.  It would make a great gift to someone who loves to cook or someone who constantly forgets where they put their keys.  Hmmm…..that sound like most everyone I know 🙂

With all the different kinds of paper that are out there, paper bead making has  possibilities that are just endless.  Do you collect paper like I do?  Here is one that I find at a local art shop, black poster paper that has crater like texture to it.

I cut the whole length of the paper with a base of one inch and here is the result: lava bead!

I thought the painted red saucer beads would be a good mix.

I incorporated onyx bead, some coral bead and gold bali beads to complete that Asian look.
