Bird of Paradise Inspired Paper Bead Necklace
I don’t know if you are like me, who finds inspiration in everyday things. When I take my walks in the morning, I am always greeted by beautiful bird of paradise blooms. They look so regal and just happy. When I saw the orange colored paper beads, I knew I had to name this necklace Bird of Paradise.

I used a three dimensional sticker from a scrap booking store, for backing and support, I cut out a rectangle from a poster board and put a strip of paper clay on the sides so it looks like a frame. I threaded a wire through the poster board and made a loop. You don’t have to use the foam board, you can just use any kind of clay or a thicker board to use as backing for the sticker. I painted the backing with acrylic paint after, and coated the paper with diamond glaze or any medium of your choice.

For the neck chain I threaded a suede chord through chain and finished it by knotting silver beads. It was not necessary to put a clasp, this way you can wear it in its full length and just slip it over your head or pull the two chords for a shorter or choker style necklace.

Here it is worn long.

Or as a choker

You can never go wrong with paper beads. It is hand made by you and therefore unique. I hope I have inspired you to make something today.

Paper Bead Dangles
I have an ealier post using paper beads on book marks. Since then, we got requests to make some more using different charms and the smaller rounder paper beads. These paper bead dangles, as I call them, can be made to hang on a book mark finding as shown here, but could also hang as cell phone charms, purse charms and even charms for hair embellishment. I took a few photos today of the paper “beadangles” and I thought I’d share them with you.

As you can see what we’ve done is hung different charms, you could also hang crystals instead. You can customize it anyway you want to.

Candy Colored Paper Beads Bracelets
I had fun making these bracelets using the twisteezwire. This is such a great companion for paper beads. It is very forgiving and so easy and fun to work with, no experience required 🙂 I found this great product and the Craft and Hobby Trade Show and was playing with it. I used the one paper bead tubes for this project.

Ladder bracelet using two colors, since the wire was not long enough, but it gives it a funky twist don’t you think?

This is the bracelt made with the same twisteezwire but with charms dangling from it, a mixture of paper beads, plastic heart beads (Happy Valentines) and some curly beads (green color) I made with paper clay.

I just curled the excess wire and it comes out as part of the design.

Tutorial on Cindy’s Bracelet
I shared with you Cindy’s creation from an earlier post. I got email requests for a tutorial, so here it is. The materials are 6mm firepolish crystals in amethyst color. I chose the amethyst color because it picks up the lavender stripes in the small round paper beads we used for this project.

Kayla demonstrates how to make this bracelet.

I hope you will have fun with this tutorial.
