Citrine Chips And Paper Beads

Posted on Dec 5, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 5 comments

Citrine is one of my favorite gem stone, I love the yellow-brown color of the stone so rich almost like gold.  It also happens to be the birthstone for the month of November and the accepted gem for 13th and 17th wedding anniversary.  It is just the perfect back drop of the paisley paper bead that Kayla made.  The finished Paper and Gems Set necklace and bracelet is indeed fit for a wedding anniversary.

The reddish brown garnet chips also complements the citrine and paper beads.  You would be surprised to find that the gem stones in chips form are not that expensive but elevates paper beads as an elegant piece of jewelry.

A Paisley Kind Of Paper Beads

If you want to make your paper beads to be uniform in colors the best paper to use is scrap booking paper.  If you have seen the scrap booking isle in your local craft store you will know that there are hundreds of different lovely patterns to choose from.  Part of the fun is not knowing how it would turn out when rolled into paper beads.  Kayla, picked out this paper with paisely design on it.

Looking at those beautiful combination black, red and gold we thought that citrine chips, garnet stones and copper findings would look pretty with it.

In The Midst Of Mother Of Pearls

Posted on Dec 1, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 11 comments

Dyed mother of pearl rings is the perfect back drop for the pumpkin and spice paper beads.  These dyed mop rings come in a variety of colors but it can be a bit of a challenge to design something with it.  It has this hole in the middle and you need the perfect size bead to go with it.  The nice thing about paper beads is that you choose the color and cut it down to a size that would fit into the middle of this ring.

Kayla made bracelet with copper beads in between to match.

Of course you can choose to put a glass bead or even a crystal with the mother of pearl ring, but then, anybody can do that.  The paper beads transforms it from ordinary to extraordinary, don’t you think?

The Color of Copper

Posted on Nov 26, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 9 comments

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!  I was spared from cooking, we went to my in-laws who just came from a trip to Egypt!  I am jealous, I wanted to go just to see and feel the papyrus paper.  I would have loved just the plain paper with no prints on them and make paper beads with them.  Anyway, this would be a whole new phase of my life, traveling.  I am hoping to do that next year, God willing. Thank you so much for all the nice comments, all eight of them!  Today, I am going to draw two names to win the two bracelets giveaway.  But before that, here is the Enameled Copper Leaves bracelet I made;

The beads are connected using the rosary loops, this style has lots of possibilities, you can add more charm to it, make it a double strand adding copper chain to it…….
