Kissing Turtles Necklace day 118

Posted on Apr 28, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 5 comments

These are turtles are “rescued” from a bracelet bought at a thrift store.  The tube paper beads has the deeper blue swirls or should I say swells because this whole piece just reminds me of the beach and the ocean.

I love the meaning and symbolism behind the turtle, that of longevity, patience and long life.

Simple Chain Maille Bracelet – day117

Posted on Apr 27, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 3 comments

One of my “to do list” is to learn chain maille, it looks complicated to me  but I know it’s just a matter of learning it and basically just try, right?  When I saw the EZ Jump Ring Maker, I thought of giving it a try.  Here’s what I made using the peacock blue artistic wire.

It comes with instructions and everything but here’s a video on how I did it.

….showing you how to put a simple bracelet together.

It’s fun to learn something new and try different things, so many things to do…..

Paper Bead Medallion-day 116

Posted on Apr 26, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 3 comments

Several magazine strips are tightly coiled into a big button bead or saucer shape bead.  I love how you can see the swirls of colors that look like tree rings.  This Big Medallion Pendant is one nice conversation piece!

This has just a very organic feel to it.  It hangs from brown silk cord hand knotted with small round paper beads.  I just love how this turned out.

Paper Bead Ball-day 115

Posted on Apr 26, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 1 comment

This is a fun project although a lot of work went into it.  You ask, what is it for?  Well, imagine your desk without it, now imagine it with the ball on top of it.  You get compliments because it is a true conversation piece!

….and it is a real ball!  I actually played it with it:)

I was looking at the boring twig balls and decided to dress it up with paper beads.
