Ojime Bead Bangle – day 260

Posted on Mar 16, 2012 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 1 comment

I find this piece organic, no clasp, all from natural materials and very much Asian inspired with the Ojime Bead as the focal point.  Ojime Beads are miniature hand carved animals originally carved out of ivory in China.  Each bead is carved by master carvers and they sign each bead.  What can I say except it is a very cool thing:)

The frog is a symbol of abundance, fertility and incredible transformations!  For those of us who wants to reinvent ourselves, the frog is great symbolism.

Beaded Bead Necklace – day 259

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 1 comment

This necklace is very feminine and can beautifully adorn a little black dress.  I thought it is beautifully displayed this way, with the crystals to give it a little dressy feel to it.  First I crocheted the Ghia beads into little balls and strung them into a 20 gauge wire.

This style is flattering to the neckline and a nice way to display the beads.

Ghia’s Beads – day 258

Posted on Mar 14, 2012 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 1 comment

We named these tiny beads after the girl who discovered to make the skinny scraps of paper into tiny paper beads.  Ghia, would pick up the scraps of paper that would fall off from the cutter from the sides of the ream of paper that was being cut.  The tiny hands were perfect for rolling them into tiny beads.  We don’t throw the scraps anymore, we make them into Ghia beads and they are great for beading projects such as this, The Ghia Necklace

A Gallery Of Necklaces – day 253-257

I find that magazine colors is well presented using gold findings.  Paper beads when well made can hold its own when paired with crystals and semi precious stones.  Here’s five necklaces using different beads on gold chains, definitely wearable!  These five designs mainly use the bicone beads.
