Beaders turned Paper Beaders – Pamela Rae
In the midst of spring
Spring, to me is the best time of the year, not too hot, not too cold. I count my self lucky to live in this part of the country and even luckier to be greeted by birds making lots of noise apparently talking to each other, enjoying the beautiful California weather. Every year we have a mama bird make nest for her babies in a hanging plant I have just outside my door. Many times I plan on taking it down and replace it with something else, but I always think about my little friends who think this is the perfect place to make their nest. This morning as I was outside, I noticed that mama birds was busy. I took a peek, and indeed 5 eggs in this perfect little nest. I look at her and I somehow couldn’t imagine how 5 eggs could possibly come out from this tiny bird.
This picture was taken of mother bird while I am inside the house.
Just in time, I was able to finish the paper bead necklace I was working on which I think is just perfect for occassions like these. It will remind me of this one fine day……..

Paper bead necklace in pink and whites
This necklace is made with different shapes of smaller paper beads (aubreysbeads.com), I wire wrapped the olive shaped paper beads into flower shape and put swarovski crystals in the middle. The necklace strand itself is made with 7-8mm paper beads (aubreysbeads.com) and I mixed it with seed beads.

I mostly spend my time in my backyard taking pictures of my work. Yesterday, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw two ducks swimming our pool. What a nice surprise! I live in Glendora, California known to be the Pride of the Foothills, and we have all sorts of animals in our backyard from rabbits to peacocks and a hawk one day even landed in our front yard. So, here it is my two visitors that day from who knows where taking a break and enjoying the nice weather.

April 22nd is Earth Day and will be celebrated nationwide. It is amazing to see the things we have achieved over the years in terms of making efforts to be more earth friendly.
In honor of this day, I made this whimsical bracelet, which is made out of paper beads. In one of my trips to the old book store we have in town I came across Aesop’s Fables and I thought it would be fun to incorporate the stories with the paper beads. I photo copied the pages and then cut out the words and the animal faces to fit the photo charms and set them with Diamond Glaze (buy Diamond Glaze). I like that it does not only tell a story but teaches a lesson. If you would like the whole story as it was written I will be happy to email them to you. Anyway, here is the story bracelet of The Fox and the Grapes from Aesop’s Fables.
