Tied In Silk – day 134
The square knot is popular when doing macrame using twine or hemp cord but why limit yourself with those fibers? I used it with silk cord in this bracelet, and to give the it some form I incorporated a thin gauge wire.
On the wrist band are small round paper beads.
It certainly has that Asian feel to it! Something I would wear if I want to look cool 🙂
Crochet Bangle – day 133
I just love crocheting with wire. It can be intimidating at first but once you show the wire that you are the “boss” everything just falls into place and you then you have a delicate wire lace with bead floating around.
It is just like crochet only with wire, which can be more forgiving than yarn. Everything is kind of free form, nobody will know if you missed a stitch. I used 26 gauge for this bracelet because it needs something heavier than 28 to hold the India Glass.
Beaded Flip Flops – day 132
This one of those projects where you turn something ordinary to extraordinary! It is flip flops season again, time to put the boots away wear something fun, and refreshing. Paper bead tubes are sewn into the band of this store bought flip flop, the result is Fruit Cocktail for the feet:)
I found these flip flops from TJ Maxx and bought quite a few of them. It is a fun project and your feet will be happy with the results 🙂
Poor Man’s Pearls Necklace
Kayla is proud of how this Poor Man’s Necklace turned out, it is a misnomer I should say because you can certainly wear this with a black dress and nobody would know they are paper!
Did you know that paper is the appropriate First Wedding Anniversary present?
