Posted on Aug 9, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 2 comments

It is good to be back!  I honestly did not realize how much I missed sharing with you ideas and paper bead inspirations.  It was hectic around here the last few weeks and I apologize for not posting, I wish there were more than 24 hours in a day.  Anyway, here’s day 188 I mix paper beads and cracked crystal that reminded me of fruit salad 🙂

Mixed Media Bracelet – day 33

Posted on Feb 2, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 1 comment

Mixed media beads in natural fibers and wood are great accompaniment with paper beads.  The bicone shaped paper beads are hand painted in swirls of orange, green, red and yellow.  You can use toothpick or really fine tipped brush is used to paint the stripes on the beads.  It came out tropical don’t you think?

I wrapped the wood bead with crocheted chains of DMC cotton thread, and also crocheted together little rounds to go in between as spacers.  If you don’t crochet don’t despair, just wrapped cord around  a wood bead and use other disc or spacers instead.

The big beads are made by stacking up several pages of triangle strips, I will do a tutorial about this as soon as I get my stuff organized after the show.
