The beads are connected using the rosary loops, this style has lots of possibilities, you can add more charm to it, make it a double strand adding copper chain to it…….

These chunky round beads are about 14 mm in size.

It is a very simple ladder stitch, as you can see the strand of white seed beads are woven through the blue beads.

For a simpler design, you could just string it on elastic with silver spacers in between.

This almost remind me of a hair scrunchie  because it can expand to fit over your hand and you can scrunch it up to hug your wrist.  No clasp necessary which I like.

The Black Lace Cuff is more of an open design and looks so pretty on your wrist.  This does not have a clasp because it can easily be adjusted to your wrist.

Paper Beads definitely takes this bracelets from ordinary to extraordinary!

First, cut triangle strips, preferable from a glossy magazine, with dimension: 1/4 inch at the base, about 17 inches long or the whole length of two pages of an open magazine section.

Smallest bead as shown above is made from one strip, medium bead from two strips, and big bead from three strips of magazine triangle rolled together as one.

I chose a magazine page that has a pattern of black, green and yellow to go with these India glass beads.

I strung it on .8mm elastic and made a bracelet.

The pattern on these beads remind me of turtles and I just love turtles and what they represent: longevity, endurance and patience.

I  would like to take a little survey on what you do with your paper beads.  Make jewelry with it? Just give it away as gifts to friends or sell it? Do you wear your paper beads jewelry? ]]> http://paperbeads.org/graduated-size-beads/feed/ 22 http://paperbeads.org/paper-bead-trade-idea-2/ http://paperbeads.org/paper-bead-trade-idea-2/#comments Fri, 25 Jun 2010 23:26:45 +0000 JaniceMae http://paperbeads.org/?p=3027 In case you’re wondering, Idea # 1 was yesterday’s post, Come Into My Garden Bracelet where we used buttons to add to our paper beads.  The paper bead tube is the most common paper bead shape and versatile in the sense that it can be used for home decorating; curtains, vases, purses, etc., but can also be easily transformed into pretty jewelry.  I love mixing paper beads with crystals and even gem stones and why not?  Here’s our Idea #2 using 3/4 inch tube paper beads and cloisonne beads. 

What you need for this project is: .8mm elastic, 3/4 inch paper bead tubes, 6/0 seed beads and cloisonne bead or any type of focal bead.

I cut about 10 inches of elastic and make sure to put a bead stopper at the end or string from a spool and make sure that the paper bead with the largest hole will be closest to the knot you will tie at the end, so that it’s easy for that bead to accommodate the knot.

You will then tie a square knot, right over left and left over right. 

It looks beautiful even among real jewelry……It kind of remind me of Victorian ladies rolling paper beads.

It looks nice mixed with the small round paper beads or whatever other shapes you have made.

We chose black 6/0 seed beads to go with it, we thought it’s going to bring out the pretty color of the paper beads and some African trade beads.

We tied gross grain ribbon around it or you can just leave it as it is.

I don’t mind wearing two sets of these!  Ridiculous?  I don’t thinks so, it’s just another way of showing the green side of you

We used the magnetic clasp and white seed beads as accent, the paper beads Kayla chose matches the copper of the finding.

The little loops seems to be begging for us to hang a beads, we’ll see……..we bought two of these bracelets.

She added a crystal rivoli in the center part of the pendant and finished it with glass pearls and crystals.  It look so much like Victorian.

The Earth Awareness Paper Bead Bracelet

The following are materials needed:

• 22 gauge silver or gold non tarnished wire
• 10mm diamond shaped paper beads (aubreysbeads.com)
• tree charm or any kind of charm of choice
• magnetic clasp

How to:  Double-wire wrapped each paper bead with the 22 gauge silver or gold wire, be sure to connect each bead before wire wrapping the ends.  Wire wrapped the magnectic clasp to each end or use jump ring, although it is more strong if the clasp is wire wrapped.  Connect the tree charm or any charm of your choice to the middle of the bracelet.  Last but not least, be sure to measure the length of the bracelet before attaching the clasp and do not forget to take into consideration that the clasp will add at least 1/4-1/2 of an inch to the length of your bracelet.

The magnetic closure makes it easy to take the bracelet off and put it on – to make the bracelet last for years you need to take it off when washing hands or doing dishes.  

Earth Awareness Paper Bead Bracelet in Gold Tone

This is such a fun bracelet to make, mixing and matching the paper beads with India Glass.  I used the 10mm paper beads and just different shapes of India glass.  Each bead is between bead caps and wire wrapped with a head pin and attached to a silver chain bracelet.

The bead caps are used to cover the larger than normal holes on the paper beads.  The bead caps can be substituted with 4mm beads or 6/0 seed beads.

It would also be nice to add charms to this bracelet.
