Swirls Of Magenta – day 58
Here is day 58, I could not believe I am on day 58 already. The beads used in this necklace are made of several tightly rolled strips of paper and painted by hand!
They are so pretty by itself does not need any other kind of adornment. I place white seed beads in between to give an illusion of knots in between.
Definitely can go from bedroom to board room 🙂 Hmmm, just created a new line of jewelry…….
I did not realize I missed day 58 in my posts, Oooops!
Read MoreA Purple Heart- day 45
A heart does not have to be red all the time, right? I love the predominantly purple(ish) color of this glass heart pendant. To make it even more special, I added painted bicone shaped paper beads to match to complement the colors.

What do you do when you have a focal bead and you don’t have the necessary components to go with it? Paint the beads!

It is something that you can wear everyday not just on Valentine’s Day. Happy Valentine’s!

Pink Polka Dots
Today, is Pictures Speaks A Thousand Words Tuesday! I made a set of bracelets out of the painted Pink Polka Dots paper beads.

I reversed the colors to coordinate with each other.

I used the Big Round Paper Beads, they are about 15mm rounds and painted them with a base of neutral color and then the main color of white and pink. In between are white agate beads.

Stay tuned for more painted beads!

Painted Paper Beads
Recently I got a request for painted paper beads, it is not exactly new to me because I have been painting them with nail polish. How about painting them with acrylic paint? You know they come in all colors imaginable, and you know what this means? You can use any paper, any color and just paint them in your desired colors. I am very excited about the whole idea of painting paper beads and so is my sister. First, here’s a look at my inspiration….

Don’t you just love polka dots? I am always drawn to anything with polka dots. Let’s get started, your materials are:
paper beads preferably round big shapes
Acrylic paints in desired colors
brush
Vibrance – this works very well painted over the acrylic painted paper beads

You let the base color dry completely before applying the dots, do not glaze them yet.

Directions: You paint your paper bead, three or four coats of the acrylic paint and let it dry. Let it dry between coats also. And then, you apply the dots using bamboo skewer (the fun part).

Let is set for 2-3 hours and then give it a coat or two of Vibrance, by brushing it on the beads, this way you can take care of the little bubbles as they form on the beads by just smashing them with your brush. The result? Glossy beads:)

They look like candies or little bon bons, don’t you think?

I have a bracelet in mind with these beads so I also made white with pink dots beads.

Another fun filled Sunday 🙂
