Paper And Pearls – day 67
Today’s feature is a mixture of paper beads, fresh water pearls and fire polished crystals. This style is so versatile and easy to make. It can be worn as is, long and just let it drape on your body or doubled up. It is fun to decide which way you want to wear it; you can have the pearls as the focal point or the paper beads.

We made it long so it can easily be worn as two strand. The magnetic clasp is ideal for something like this.

For this project we used the thin beading wire because pearls have really small holes. All you need: thin beading wire, crimp beads and magnetic clasp and voila!

It looks like the paper beads just fit into this mix, don’t you think?

Friendship Beads Necklace
Seeing all the beautiful beads in beautiful fall colors; pumpkin, spice, oranges and browns from places as far as Croatia and France each painstakingly rolled into a bead makes me think of them as Friendship Beads. I counted seventeen participants including Ashley and Jennifer whose beads are being mailed as we speak. I have shown you the Beads In Orbit and Memory Wire Bracelets as examples of what we can possibly make out of the trade beads. Kayla and I look at the beads and thought that they would be displayed better in a longer necklace because of the different shapes and size of the beads. Take a look and tell me what you think.

The necklace is about 48 inches long

You can wear it also doubled up like this

Since it is strung on jewelry elastic, you can also wind it several times on your wrist

The necklace is highlighted with seed beads, crystals, buttons and wood beads

I think your necklace would look nice with all the fall colors. Your kit would include: jewelry grade elastic, seed beads, wood beads, buttons and of course the paper beads from all the participants. Play with it, have fun with it add more beads from your own collection.

I want to be a gracious host, therefore, I am giving you a choice in your kit: Memory Wire, Beads In Orbit or the Friendship Beads Necklace. You can do so by leaving me a comment here.

Don’t you just love paper chains? You remember making them as a kid and the satisfaction you get when you see them getting longer and longer? We have been making a lot of elastic bracelets and we just have a pile of them. I was playing with them one day, and discovered that they make really nice and colorful chain links! We made several of the elastic bracelets using small round beads and small olive shaped beads.

It is very simple to turn them into chains and here’s how I did it
This style of linking the bracelets into a chain is so versatile and a lot of possibilities. Because there is no clasp involve, you just tie them with a ribbon for closure you can wear them several ways.

This would also be pretty as a belt. The same necklace, we converted it into a bracelet.

You can use it as a hair scrunchie

I think it would work great as a head band also!

Soon, you might find this versatile way of turning elastic bracelet into beaded chain links in catalogs and stores! Just say you saw it here first 🙂
