365 Paper Bead Creations

Posted on Jan 1, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 5 comments

Kayla and I are stepping up to the challenge of creating wearable paper bead jewelry every single day in the year 2011.  It seems like a daunting task but we had a lot of practice since 2008 when we started the blog.  We are anticipating that paper beads will be taken to a whole new level this year and we will be seeing more people wearing them and jewelry designers incorporating paper beads into their creations.  To kick off the New Year, Wearable Paper Bead Jewelry #1 is what I call New Year’s Eve Ball In Time Square because that’s what it reminds me of.

I would still be posting tutorials and videos which means that I might have two posts in some days!  The piece of jewelry that is featured here will be on my etsy shop the next day available for purchase.  Let’s look forward to a Happy Prosperous New Year!

Paper Bead Cocktail Ring

Posted on Aug 6, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 2 comments

What happens when you take the paper bead clusters and connect it to a ring finding?  A fun, beautiful, conversation piece cocktail ring!  Kayla made about 7 of the paper bead balls using the really small paper beads and some seed beads and wire wrapped them into the ring finding.

These are about 7 individual paper bead balls that are wire wrapped to the loop of the ring finding

You don’t have to use the really small paper beads, you can try and use olive shaped paper beads and I’m sure it will look pretty too.

Black and White Set – Paper Bead Idea # 3

Posted on Jun 28, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 7 comments

This black and white earrings and ring set is made of the zentangle paper beads from this post.  It is sometimes hard to find black and white jewelry to go with your black and white outfit.  I have solved that problem and actually wore this set to a an afternoon gathering with family and friends.  Paper beads jewelry can certainly be dressy if you want it to be, and can hold up to real jewelry…

So here I am wearing it 🙂

The chandelier earrings can be worn casual since they’re paper beads and I used earring findings by black lace in one of my trips to Michaels, you can see more here.

A Tutorial on the Sea Anemone Ring

Posted on Mar 13, 2010 in How-To's / Tutorials | 26 comments

I did a post on this ring a few months back, but no video tutorial.  This has been such a popular ring, and just catches everyone’s attention when I wear it.  It such a nice cocktail ring or just a “feel good ring”.  The ring would take on a different look depending on which ring finding you are using.  The trick is to just fill up the loop with as much dangles as you can – which can be quite a challenge, but then you get such rewarding results. I have used the olive shaped paper beads and the small round beads in making these rings.

This ring is made with the small round paper beads.

You can also try and wire wrap the dangles into the ring loop finding instead of the rosary loop.

I hope you have fun this week end making these rings.
