Chocolate Brown And Gold Bead

Posted on Oct 14, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 4 comments

The words that describes these Big Bicone beads?  Big, bold, chunky, rich, substantial, deep chocolate brown…..

They are just like your regular tube bead but super sized!  It measures 2 inches long and 1/2 inch in the middle.  It has a gold band wrap around the center that just completes the whole look of the bead, perfect for fall and the holidays!

The gold vermeil Bail beads are the perfect accompaniment for these chunky beads

Like Blue Caterpillar

Posted on Sep 19, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 4 comments

The round blue paper beads that almost look like blue marbles are strung with opalescent 11/0 seed beads attached to a three loop finding.  When I open it and lay it flat it reminds me of a blue caterpillar which I think can only be found on children books.

These chunky round beads are about 14 mm in size.

It is a very simple ladder stitch, as you can see the strand of white seed beads are woven through the blue beads.

For a simpler design, you could just string it on elastic with silver spacers in between.

Easy Elastics-Glass Rings

Posted on Aug 19, 2010 in Paper Bead Creations | 2 comments

If you want instant gratification, Paper Bead Elastic Bracelets are a a breeze to make.  If you are not into wire wrapping or any other form of  beading technique, but have the eye for color, stringing your paper beads in jewelry makers’ elastic gives your work a finished look.  I love these colored glass rings in big and small sizes because they are somehow made for my big round paper beads and diamond shaped paper beads for the smaller rings.

This looks elegant on the wrist.

The smaller glass rings were just perfect for the diamond shaped paper beads – which are actually made by gluing to strips of triangle pieces together.

I would love to wear several of these at the same time.

These big chunky paper beads are so much fun, you could still see the words in some of the beads.  I suggest to use a .7 or .8mm elastic for these projects.
