Paper Beads Chandelier Earrings – day 63

Posted on Mar 3, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 1 comment

This is one project that we took from ordinary to extraordinary!  I found this pair of earrings when I was cleaning out my daughter’s room, Lyra my youngest left for UC San Diego to finish her bachelors and guess what?  I just acquired a new studio!

Cascading Copper Earrings – 9th day

Posted on Jan 9, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 3 comments

We were making the matching bracelet to the necklace that was yesterday’s post but then we realize that it would be perfect as pair of earrings instead.  The turquoise colored olive paper beads complements the bronze pearls really well.

We used the same five loop earring finding for the necklace.

You can make the bracelet the same way, just continue ’til you have reached 7 or 7 1/2 inches and attach the other finding on the other end.

Paper to Paper Bead Idea #3

Posted on Oct 21, 2010 in Paper To Paper Bead Ideas | 12 comments

I have a collection of paper of all kinds because I hate throwing anything out thinking I will be able to recycle them and give it new life.  With this in mind, my Paper to Paper Bead Idea # 3 is freezer paper.  You come home from the deli one day and you find that cheeses and meat is wrapped in freezer paper.  It has such a nice texture to it, not too thick and not too thin.  I thought they’re great for painted paper beads, you can use whatever left over nail polish you have which is what I did for this project.

I cut the triangle strips 1/2 inch wide at the base and 22 inches long, of course you can cut it longer or wider at the base for a different look.  I then, applied nail polish in green.

Dip it in glitter

Voila!  Pair of blingy earrings 🙂

I think they will look like pearls if you were to make it a little rounder and painted with frosted white nail polish.

Any ideas you want to share?

Our Green Version of It

Posted on Jul 21, 2010 in Our Green Version | 4 comments

I love leafing through catalogs that I get from the mail, getting ideas (why go to Milan?), and turning them into paper beads after.  I love the Jjill clothing line, they are comfy and perfect for just lounging at home.  This necklace and earrings set, caught my eye, and here’s our version of it in  small round paper beads!

Wearable?  Definitely!

The earrings are very simple and easy to do (it really is!),  the paper beads are strung into a 24 gauge wire, make loops at the end and connect them into a chain, the chain into an earring finding, voila!

Another day of turning the ordinary to extraordinary!
