Magazine Swirls Ring-day 121

Posted on May 2, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 6 comments

Ever since I discovered that the saucer shape beads makes great rings I have been making a few of what I call Magazine Swirls Ring.  Unlike the regular tube paper bead where you can see the pattern of the paper and some words on the bead itself, all that you see in the saucer shape bead are the colors of the sides of the paper strips.

They are beautiful in itself, and all you need to do really is glue them into a ring finding.

Or, you can jazz it up with a bunch of beads on top…..

It certainly brings out the Green Diva in you 🙂

These fun Nested Rings, is my version  of the meshed earrings I made which has become quite popular.  They are are just like little pop corn balls but so much prettier:)

I form them into balls by crocheting the beads and wire wrapping them together.

It can be considered a cocktail ring but certainly can be worn during daytime as well.

Paper Bead Medallion-day 116

Posted on Apr 26, 2011 in 365 Paper Bead Creations | 3 comments

Several magazine strips are tightly coiled into a big button bead or saucer shape bead.  I love how you can see the swirls of colors that look like tree rings.  This Big Medallion Pendant is one nice conversation piece!

This has just a very organic feel to it.  It hangs from brown silk cord hand knotted with small round paper beads.  I just love how this turned out.

This is a fun project although a lot of work went into it.  You ask, what is it for?  Well, imagine your desk without it, now imagine it with the ball on top of it.  You get compliments because it is a true conversation piece!

….and it is a real ball!  I actually played it with it:)

I was looking at the boring twig balls and decided to dress it up with paper beads.
