Paper To Paper Bead Idea #8

Posted on Nov 7, 2010 in Paper To Paper Bead Ideas | 19 comments

Double sided patterned paper is Paper To Paper Bead Idea # 8.  You are getting two color coordinated paper beads in one sheet of paper!  Talking of  casual chic on a shoe string, you are getting two sets of jewelry that can be coordinated; worn together or mixing the two color beads together.

The measurement for the triangle strip: 1cm x 12 inches (the dimension of the paper is 12 x 12).  The paper I am using is available in your craft stores or scrap booking stores.

One side has a beautiful pattern of red and white and the back side of it is a pretty bronzy color.  Here it is as earrings:

This would be great as presents, something inexpensive, hand made and a conversation piece.

I used really inexpensive findings as well, the firepolished crystals also complemented the beads…

Two sets of jewelry for under $10.00

Sophia of  Chez Sofia inspired me to try polymer clay, if you go visit her site you will know what I’m talking about.  Here I am jumping in on another addictive craft.  My excuse?  They are the perfect match with paper beads.

  1. Dear Janice,
I can’t thank you enough for all the help. I just love the beads and how easy they are. I did catch the jtv, and ordered the templates and they really are a great help for my hands that still have the neropathy from the chemo. Thank you again soooo much for this wonderful site and all the new aids to help make beads bettr. Thank you again. Pamela

  2. Hi Janice
Received your kit from JTV. Everyone in cancer treatment with me now has a pink and white bracelet. I can’t fine measurments for the saucer bead and some of the others. Is there a book or directions somewhere I can get?
    Sincerly Pamela

  3. Hi Janice

    Sincerely Pamela

  4. Hi Janice,
I am a cancer patient who needed a easy to transport craft. I do wirewrappinng but it desn’t travel well. I sent for your kit on JTV and am now hooked. I make pink and white braclets for allthe patients at the center. I really need to find the measurments for the big round saucer beads and a few others. Where can I buy a book or find them. Thank you for giving me a new craft.
    Sincerely Pamela

    • Hi Pamela,

Try rolling three strips of paper at the same time making sure to glue all the strips together towards the end. You will find that experimenting is part of the fun! Janice

  5. Hi Janice,
I received your kit last week from JTV. I am in theripy for cancer and needed something to carry to do for four hours. I just love the kit, it not only travels well but compact. I have given many pink and white bracelets away to my new accountiance at the center. I am a little frustrated that I can’t seem to find directins for some of the more exciting beads you are doing. Is there a book I didn’t see or maby there is somewhere I can find measurents for the paper strips. The center is providing the magazines and I do the cutting and all. I normally do wirewrapping, but that won’t travel well. Thank you for a new craft that I can share with others who really need a little cheering up. Please keep up the good work.
    Sincerely Pamela

  6. Hi Janice,

I have a picture of the oval browned flecked beads that I want to buy that I was asking you about. But I cannot figure out how to send it to you on here. So I am going to send it via an email attachment as a response to your email. I also sent you a message regarding Vibrance and the bamboo vs the metal bead roller. Let me know k?

  7. This turned out great Janice! Never thought about the double sided paper before what a great idea.

  8. I got my beads in on Saturday and was like a kid at Christmas! Made a the necklace and wore it to work today~~and had many compliments. Hopefully, I will have a pic to upload soon. Thanks again Janice and friends!!

  9. Janice Mae,

you say that now, but when you really get startet on polymer you will find that it is just as addictive as paper beads. Pretty soon you will be adding to your tool list. I have the greatest admiration for my poor husband who has to step over boxes and beads to get across the room. And he never complained. He is a better person than I would be.

    • Hi Gisela,

I think your husband is a wise man; a happy wife is a happy household. I do know that for women to be able to have time and space for crafts and hobbies we need a supportive better half. I can already foresee that I will be deep into the polymer clay, more sleepless nights……..

  10. Janice,

I received my fall trade beads Friday and by Friday night had put together a gorgeous necklace! I love seeing everyone’s creations. This was another one of those projects that inspired me to think outside of my creative “box”. I tend to make my jewelery very symmetrical-I loved the challenge of putting these beads together and the result is amazing. I am wearing it right now and keep looking down at it and the beautiful beads. Thank you, Janice, for organizing the trade and thanks to all of the paper beaders for inspiring me. I would love to do a winter bead trade. Girls…how can we thank Janice…..?

    • Hi Kathy,

I would love to see your Fall Necklace! You don’t have to thank me, Kayla and I had so much fun seeing all those beads, putting them together, sorting them…I have another idea for the trade if not the Winter trade, we’ll see. Janice

  11. these are really nice! you’re really good. 🙂

  12. Oh goodness! That beige set is exquisite!!! I LOVE them!

Have you ever tried making any of the “Pandora” style beads? I tried it by rolling them on a meat skewer, and they turned out so cute! I didn’t like the color so I painted them with acrylic paint and sealed them. You can see them Here, on my paper bead blog! It can be one of your ideas for beads… to add to your list!!!

  13. I love polymer clay! I discovered it and it goes very well with paperbeads! Have you seen GentleManbunny’s Videos on youtube?

    • Hi Ashley,

I have indeed discovered Gentlemanbunny’s tutorial, still so much to learn.

  14. This is so pretty. You have a real talent for putting the paper beads together with the accent beads. I also dabbled with polymer clay beads and it is addictive. But both mediums require tools and materials and I am running out of room. I already taken over most of our living room. So for the moment I have all my polymer clay and things that go with it (pasta maker, molds etc.) in a big plastic storage box. I could get it out at a moments notice though.

I received my trade beads and like them very much. Thank you so much for doing this. I will get to work on it as soon as I am done with my current project.

    • Hi Gisela,

You are right about the tools and material as if there is any room left. I just want to do simple beads to go with the paper beads so no pasta machine, I am just going to make this with my bare hands 🙂
